Vinyl Flooring

Using the latest printing technology, sheet vinyl can add personality to your floor. Sheet vinyl comprises of three layers, starting with a base made up of PVC that promotes a strong and stable core as well as giving it a soft underfoot felling. The second layer is the design layer, which can be produced in hundreds of different styles that often mimic wood or stone. On top is the protective wear-and-tear layer which prevents scuffs and stains.

Is Vinyl Waterproof?

Yes, sheet vinyl is waterproof. This means that not only is it easy to clean, it won’t be ruined by any moisture. Sheet vinyl is made up of PVC and felt backing on which PVC is spread, both of which are very water-resistant.

Water cannot penetrate vinyl and soak through, it will simply sit on top until it is cleaned away. This is important because you want to protect what’s underneath your floor from damage whenever water strikes.

Vinyl vs LVT

Both made from a PVC core, sheet vinyl and LVT are very similar products. The main difference between the two is in the installation process.

Sheet vinyl is cut directly from the roll, whereas LVT is supplied in tiles or planks. This allows LVT to be more flexible, as it’s easier to replace a specific damaged tile if need be. However, for this reason, LVT is on average more expensive than sheet vinyl.
